Pros

Co-workers are mostly enjoyable to work with.

Cons

-Terrible health insurance!! They treat their patients better than their employees. -They will change your job description and schedule with no notice or even asking. If you are hired for a specific job or schedule DON'T COUNT ON IT!! They will increase your hours even if you are only part-time for a reason- they say they can "flex you to 40 as needed". They will also float you through multiple departments even if you were hired to work in a specific area. - It is all about what THEY need and they have no regard for the employees. -Certain departments have NO UNION so there is no safety or job security. -Management will completely ignore phone calls and/or emails. I'm still waiting on a returned call from 2 months ago!!

Pros

My co-workers were great as were the surgeons and office staff I regularly dealt with. I was happy with my pay and really enjoyed my job.

Cons

It is the management here that soured the whole experience. The management in particular prefers a bully management style. Mercy, obviously, has continued to move them up through the ranks over the years despite the numerous complaints filed, so the decision making ability of revenue cycles upper management as a whole is questionable. They fail to realize that respect begets respect. That when you care about people, they care about your bottom line. It really isn't that complicated. It is so sad that the focus is on quantity of work instead of quality. As a person who has literally done every part of medical billing, I know for a fact this creates denials and holds up A/R. The patients and the physicians deserve better.

Pros

Knowledgeable employees, opportunity for training and knowledge, great pay and good benefits.

Cons

CarePATH division of Mercy is unprofessional as management "rates" their employees based on what others state rather than the employee's performance. CarePATH top management level promote based on friendship and looks instead of knowledge and experience. These managers do not lead by example, and only care about meeting deadlines. Best employees are worked into the ground, while the the favored can do no wrong. They do not practice the mission of the organization, and great employees leave because of the workload and culture as life-work balance does not exist there. No clear direction, and waste of money due to the travel and go-lives which can be done through technology. Hard work is not rewarded.
