Changes After Changes (& Not the Good Kind)

Pros

They provide free company lunches once a month. 401k matching. The extra star is for this + the way the company used to be.

Cons

Lots of people joined meridianlink several years ago to feel like their work was purposeful and like they weren’t just a number. Now with the acquisition and the subsequent changes, everyone is subjected to being robots churning away on the wheels of a not-so well oiled machine. It’s organized chaos (emphasis on the chaos), and it’s a very top heavy environment with all the new executive hires. There have been layoffs every few months for the past year and a half or so. Those who have been at ML for more than 2-3 years miss the workplace they used to have, and those who are newer seem to look for jobs elsewhere pretty quickly. I’d advise anyone looking to join ML to reach out to a non-HR employee on LinkedIn and collect their thoughts on the company. You might get a bit of a mixed bag of responses, but if the employees contacted are honest I can say with almost certainty they won’t be positive.

Thank you for highlighting your concerns. We do feel that all of our employees (including our managers) bring valuable skills and expertise to their jobs here. We listen to all ideas, but cannot realistically implement them all. We ask employees to grow on their team for two years before looking to move to other teams since we feel it’s fair to the rest of the team that an employee contributes for a while after time is spent training and coaching them. There is much room for growth and career advancement after demonstrating the required expertise/ability, a strong work ethic, leadership qualities and a positive attitude. A multitude of employees have been promoted to more senior levels or management roles within the Company - both on the Support team and across our organization.

Pros

- Health insurance is good - Work-life balance is what you make it - Once a month waffles and company lunch

Cons

- Poor communication from upper management - Must be in a position for 2 years before you can move to another team - even for support. No real career paths with meaningful advancement - Does not feel like we are all on the same team - Doesn't feel like they truly care about employees - Benefits are slipping - People are leaving for better opportunities/environments/pay/benefits

While no company is a perfect fit for everyone, the overwhelming majority of ML employees are happy, as exemplified by our retention rate of 92%. MeridianLink’s 19-year track record of keeping its family members from “leaving for better opportunities/environments/pay/benefits” speaks for itself. This is further evidenced by our highly competitive benefits/compensation packages coupled with firm commitments to increase budgetary investments aimed directly at employees. That being said, we are disheartened when any team member finds themselves in a position where they are not receiving the most out of their career journey with MeridianLink. We encourage such a person to speak with any manager, HR manager, or our president for advice and/or help developing a personal action plan. We fully recognize and embrace the fact that MeridianLink’s number one market positions are a direct result of partnering with a committed group of people that consistently pursue excellence, therefore there is no greater priority than that of our family members.
