Pros

great learning environment, opportunity to grow,

Cons

objective views brought in to make change is a great approach, but needs to be tempered by acknowledging experience already in place has a place in that change as well

Pros

Good benefits and retirement plan with OPERS, also the option for Ohio Deferred Comp is nice. It is not very doctor oriented like other hospitals in the area, and management takes input from nurses too. There are not a whole lot of ego's, everybody knows they are there to help people, and work together for the most part. Not many people thing they are God's gift to the hospital. Also not having to wear white scrubs is nice! Parking is cheaper than the other big hospitals downtown. Benefits are good, they give you a Metro plan where you have to use Metor doc's but they also have a plan where you can use any provider.

Cons

The patient population can drain on you, a lot feel entitled and you are there to serve them and not that they need to do their part to get better. CCP's (or Nurse aids anywhere else) who have been there a long time and are in the union who think they can do anything they want and not be accountable or listen to other staff and give attitude. A lot of times communication is lacking, you have different services telling you and the patients' different things and it can get confusing, but that is anywhere.

Pros

County hospital so you get holidays that other companies don't get like MLK, Veteran's day if you choose to take it. Good benefits plan- medical, dental, vision. They give you a chance and you are expected to learn, grow.

Cons

You are expected to see X number of patients daily. This is emphasized quite a bit. Revenue is very important to them rather than quality of care many times. Not really loving the work environment. You can feel the stress. And some are just not great to work with, especially the providers at a particular satellite. the patient population is difficult to work with. Many times they dont' show and it's hard to help those who don't want it. Too many people doing the same job in administration. What used to be 1 position, is now split up into 3. Who do we go to for xyz problem? It's a matter of going from one person to another until you're told it will be handled. Sometimes they hire incompetent, unprofessional people into management roles. And you just have to work with them even if they aren't your supervisor.
