Pros

-The people are ok -the customers aren't usually too angry -planagrams are easy to understand after a while

Cons

-supervisors get annoyed and angry when you ask them to repeat anything -the registers are not user friendly, the key system is just dumb -poor communication -don't get paid enough for the work you do -have yet to hear anything remotely like "You're improving" or "good job" it's always "you need to work faster" "you're not doing this right" -hours are inconsistent -you have to use a website to update your time availablities and request time off. You get locked out easily and have to call India to get it back up and when you don't use the site they get annoyed -you learn how to find where things are and then they put out seasonal stuff and it doesn't follow the rules you've learned and then get annoyed at you when you ask where things go

Pros

Mostly good people to work with, full of fun merchadise

Cons

keep track of your hours or you will be underpaid. If your called in early or asked to stay late you probably won't get paid for it. Future store is not as they say. It's a way save payroll and make more $$$ for the company. Getting rid of good full time people and replacing them with high school kids that really don't care about the store or customers was a mistake. Funny thing is they ar changing the registers to be the way Joanne's has them. Can't wait to see what the future Michaels holds for the busy season.

Pros

Quick promotions if you do your job well, go out of your way to help others, delegate and manage your team appropriately, and have a good attitude. (In other words, all those things a manager should do anyway!) Upper management in my district is supportive and appreciative. The constructive criticism is professional. They let you know what you need to progress. Store of the Future has been a good experience for me, even if some kinks need ironing out, it shows that Michaels is committed to finding ways to please the customer and allow management to get their mound of tasks done with as little frustration as possible. The new portal system is great too.

Cons

The benefits are good, however the benefits department is just terrible! They take weeks to call you back, lose your paperwork, never answer emails... this list goes on and on.
