Lack of Care of Employees

Pros

30% discount, decent coworkers, flexible hours.

Cons

This company does not care for its staff. Every day with what is in the news and social media of how customers have been verbally and often times physically abusive to retail and service workers, this company does not protect its employees, while knowing the risky situations we are put in for simply following and enforcing the rules and company-mandated policies. They give in to customer demands without so much as a follow-up from – or helping hand for staff. The pay is overwhelmingly low compared to similar titles and responsibilities in other industries (all the while being customer facing), the lack of staff while also having higher expectations and pushing an increase of work in the wake of Party City and JoAnn Fabrics closures.

Decent salary

Business Outlook

Pros

1) Salary is decent enough for the position. 2) Decent benefits (if your manager approves of your leave).

Cons

1) There is zero work-life balance. You WILL get work related calls at midnight. You will get unplanned teams calls when you are in the bathroom or having dinner or even when you are in another meeting and your status clearly shows busy or presenting. Not only that, you can expect to get calls when you are in leave...whether vacation or sick leave...because everything is urgent and everything is a deal breaker that needs immediate attention. 2) Almost all employees are from India, so you can expect Indian working culture like micromanaging, not enough time to complete anything, overpromising from upper level management to their managers...very different from the US work culture.

Pros

Flexible Schedule: Early shifts leave the rest of your day open. Independent Work: Typically less customer interaction, more focus-based tasks. Calm Environment: Store is usually quiet before opening hours. Physical Activity: Active job helps you stay physically engaged.

Cons

Physically Demanding: Involves lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. Low Pay: Entry-level retail positions often offer modest compensation. Limited Advancement: Growth opportunities can be slow unless you pursue management.
