Amazing Coworkers, Awful Management

Pros

The clients are amazing, no matter how challenging they get. Coworkers are wonderful. The job is hard but rewarding.

Cons

Management needs a lot of work. This is not just upper management either, although the goals set by upper management certainly do not make middle-level management easy. CEO's priorities are in the wrong place - please don't prioritize putting fish tanks and goats in the building over the care of our clients.

Regarding the fish tank and goats, our goal and priority is to ensure the well-being of both our patients and employees. The fish tank serves as an educational tool, teaching our patients about marine life, responsibility, and environmental care. It also facilitates therapy by promoting stress reduction and encouraging engagement in the therapeutic process. Goats contribute in many ways such as emotional well-being, promoting physical health, support with socialization and non-judgmental support making them valuable for experiential therapy. Management is virtually non existent and things change on a dime without clear communication.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your experience was not more positive. Working for a non-profit can have its challenges, but we are passionate about the work we do and the services we provide for the community. Regarding communication from managers, our managers provide multiple supervision opportunities. There are one on one supervisions with supervisors as well as group supervision and team meetings to support employees to support effective communication. We also have an open-door policy for additional support. As for turnover, our records indicate a consistently low for the behavioral health field in the Denver metro area, even though COVID. We've implemented initiatives such as the additional BHA Retention Bonuses and Life Stipends, RTD Eco-Pass and work schedule adjustments etc. to enhance employee satisfaction and retention. Pros

Working for mile high has changed my life for the better management is very understanding when it comes to family and self-care. They are easy to talk with and when problems come up they act fast to find a solution.

Cons

Every job has cons....but the only con for mile high that I can think of is there is limited office space. :)
