Pros

Coworkers were great. Reimbursements ok. Health insurance was average but expensive. But honestly not much else unfortunately. The cons definitely outweigh the pros here.

Cons

Literally everything else as someone else mentioned. If you value your mental health and work life balance, I would take any other job. The CEO is toxic. HR is a nightmare. The most non trauma informed place. Their shelter? A time bomb and living disaster.

Pros

You will gain experience working with a challenging client population, you will learn a lot and gain new skills (conflict resolution, problem-solving skills, time management, setting boundaries, collaboration, trauma informed care). There are good staff members and bad staff members, so just be careful who you center yourself around. Great position for new graduates. The clients can be tough at times, but most of them are absolutely wonderful. You literally can't get fired from this job, it takes a lot to be let go. It is a lax work space and management can be pretty hands-off, so you need to know how to work independently and get things done without a boss giving you a list of tasks. Management is open to feedback.

Cons

Supervisory team is kind of a mess and kind of out-of-touch with this client population at times. They talk a lot of big ideas but then won't follow through with the funding or support on those ideas. Management is supportive of new ideas or any fun stuff you want to do with the families or kids but if you propose an event or activity its completely up to you to conduct the whole thing. CEO is grossly uninvolved in the East (Aurora) side of the company. He likes to get mad at everyone when things go wrong but never steps foot inside the building. Thankfully, you won't have to deal with him much though.
