Pros

You can have a lot of autonomy to do your work, you can work remotely, and for me, the pay and benefits were excellent. So long as someone in leadership believes in what you're working on, you should be fine. And sometimes, the company can really shine, like how it sought to support all its Ukranian employees when the conflict started.

Cons

The company is very poorly managed. While they like to talk about the "Mirantis family" and make everyone feel at home, remaining leadership has a really hard time being transparent, they don't take the time to learn who their employees really are and what they contribute, and if you're a frontend/UI engineer, you will have little to no support. They don't truly see any value in in-house built UI and are perfectly happy with acquired or OSS-based UIs. And there are essentially no career path opportunities.

Pros

• The position is good for Interns, the company is looking to pay less. • There are lots of technologies to play with.

Cons

• There is a culture of fear among the workers and manager for the L1 Team Engineers (EMEA) • The company is highly disorganized • The company has no interest whatsoever to invest in you regarding training in understanding how best to work with their services. Only self-study that can be done by anyone at Udemy • Surveys and feedback that are supposed to be anonymous are not. They say it is, but it is not. Don’t fall for the trap. They monitor everything, even the self-study course you do with the organization Udemy enterprise and slack chats. • Documentation for working process is outdated and porous. • The manager will tell you feel free to ask him any questions. When you ask you are sent off to go find the answers by yourself or ask other people. • The manager always hounds the L1 Team, to pick up a case even when they are working on some already. Not allowing the team to work effectively. • They always ask you to feel some weekly review via 15five platform but never implementing your feedback or taking it into consideration. • If you ask questions pertaining some process or training, you are already in blacklisted and waiting for the next opportunity to sack you/off board you. The order of work is militaristic style. So don’t ask questions. Just work like a zombie. • No salary increases for the past 2 years • You are expected to be at par with experienced colleagues within a space of 6months or else start looking for another job • The Manager is never happy or commend the team for a good job. The reward of good job is more job. • If you don’t speak Russia, you might be at disadvantage as 99.9% of the team is Russian speakers in the team. No diversity. • They like to offer mostly 1 year contract so they can get rid of you easily. • Tech stack is mainly based on Kubernetes. Any other skills you have outside this domain is practically useless • No end of the year party or social functions.

Thank you for the detailed feedback and for sharing your experiences at the company thus far. It is unfortunate that you feel that your personal growth and development have not been prioritized by the company. I would like to inform you that we have in focus on how we can deliver best-practice training to all our employees and everyone has access to excellent training resources like Udemy and Mirantis technical training. That being said if you have specific recommendations that you would like to make please feel free to submit them to the HR team. In regards to your comments about management within your team, we take these complaints very seriously and would encourage you to reach out personally to the VP of HR to outline specific incidences of unfavorable practices. It is our sincere hope that everyone within Mirantis teams feels valued and as if their ideas will be taken into consideration. Please note that this would not be the appropriate platform to have a meaningful discussion regarding salary increases but I would be happy to look into why in your case you have not received an increase and discuss any performance-related matters if those are the reason. Pros

Good products. Approachable and capable CEO. Great technology and industry to be in.

Cons

Toxic politics are widespread on field sales team. Loyalty gets rewarded, while any sign of dissent is swiftly punished. Talented team members who work hard and become top contributors, but don't "kiss the ring" just right are ignored in favor of loyalists who kiss up to management. This has already had a strong negative impact on team morale and performance. Yet, sycophants continue to receive promotions, further weakening the team.

At Mirantis, we care about the morale of our team members and strive to recognize everyone's contributions to the success of the organization. Please contact me at ilykov@mirantis.com so that we may discuss your observations further. CEO is so approachable in your view, perhaps you can also talk to Adrian directly about your concerns.
