Old culture, new branding

Pros

Moda provides great benefits. Vacation time is great and they reward you handsomely with it the longer you're employed. The people I work with are a fabulous, talented group. Office is located in downtown Portland and Nordstrom Rack is located on the ground floor. Great views, ample desk space.

Cons

Raises are low, management culture is old fashioned. In a technological world, cell phones and outside technology is not embraced. Parking is $12.50-13.50 a day and only upper management gets paid parking, Trimet pass is only 50% covered, they work you to the bone. Motto is to work smarter, not harder. That's just their way of brainwashing you into believing being short staffed is okay. Management rewards bullies in the workplace and aren't reprimanded.

Political Pitfall

Pros

They offer great benefits and you get to dress casual on every other Friday. The co-workers are pleasant and hardworking.

Cons

Compensation is low, unless you're in management. Extreme amount of micromanaging, makes you feel like a robot. Moral is extremely low and management is subpar.

Training

Pros

my salary was decent, 37.5 work week.

Cons

If they don't like you for any reason they will not give you a chance whatsoever. Oh, and dont ask questions towards the end of your training. You will get fired unless they like you. No parking down town, and they pay only 50% of trimet but after 90 days.
