Run Far Far Away

Pros

Navex tries to position itself and puts systems into place to appear to be an empathetic and caring employer who cares about employee mental health and well-being as well as career growth.

Cons

Its all lip service, they don't practice what they preach. Sales organization grinds you down to the core with their micro management and seemingly endless requests for being perfect at activity and data entry the Navex way. They don't let you be yourself or have original thought. Its their way or the highway. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Quick to promote and demote without a plan

Pros

I loved the ethos of the company to begin with and I felt empowered to voice my opinions at the beginning

Cons

I was promoted without discussion with me and then blamed for not being to deliver as a Snr manager. I was told by the VP that she will be mentoring me however she was often busy and cancelled or forgot to cancel our meetings. At any mentoring meetings she had no plan so we would end up with her working on her to do list or the latest fire and me watching. I felt lost and that showed as I switched off from my work. I detached myself and stopped voicing my opinion. I was called into meetings with the VP where she would tell me how I needed to work all hours and how she did when she was my age and that I should find a daycare for my 1 year old, who would keep her until late (7 pm!) so that I would not have to leave work late. Everyone I worked with was either a man or women who did not have young or any kids. There was no empathy. I was offered a demotion and asked to find another job if I didn’t want it. With only 5 days to decide I had to pick the demotion but I knew I had to quit the department at the least. I networked in the company and found another role, however when hr and the VP found out about it they fired me as I had lost their trust!! I wasn’t even allowed to say good bye to my team. I was so embarrassed and it was an ambush so I had no way to defend myself. I would never work there again.

Overall a good company

Pros

Great people (i work with really smart individuals) Some fun events every quarter Opportunity to make money (if you get lucky and get a good territory) Super nice executive team (Bob Conlin is amazing and some others like Cindy Raz etc) Pay is decent but could be better

Cons

Lack of flexibility with working (no work from home days) Some micro-managing Most territories are crap and they expect you to still hit your quotas (this is so ridiculous. Like how can you expect territories with no history of hitting quota to hit it out of no where?) Lots of favoritism (i guess this has become normal at most companies) Some people are literally HANDED a promotion! (they never post or announce openings to internal employees. Next thing we know we receive an email that XYZ just got promoted) I have heard of some VPs telling some AEs that they will be the next to be promoted. Like how unprofessional and unfair to the other AEs who have invested more time with the company and are performing just as well.
