Pros

There are some good people who work here.

Cons

Leadership: Constantly patting themselves on the back about exceeding sales goals and how strong company is, while laying off individual contributors. A top-down culture of micromanagement and nitpicking performance to fit whatever narrative about their staff. Middle management is only interested in pleasing leadership and leadership is only interested in pleasing owners. Covid: After three years of covid, there has been no market adjustment for pay, no bonuses, and no compensation bump for inflation. There has just been lots of talk about how strong revenue is, while laying off individual contributors. During covid, leadership mentioned in a few meetings about ski trips, traveling, horse-riding, and golfing trips. How insensitive and disrespectful is it to mention these luxuries while dodging conversations about pay. Company: Leadership has convinced themselves that this is a tech company. It is not. Neither the products nor the compensation reflect that self-deception.

Pros

The office environment looks great. New building. Looks like a trendy start-up company.

Cons

Heavily advertised company culture is a complete scam. Very misleading company "Credo". Teams are extremely siloed and collaboration is discouraged. Way too much turnover not due to lack of competency but lack of tools/resources (I.e. Training, coaching). Very sad to see good people leave what could be a great company if senior management wasn't so scared about speaking up. Theme always seemed to be to keep your head down.

I appreciate you sharing your perspective and hope you were able to complete our second Employee Engagement Survey (open during January). We were very happy to have a strong response rate from employees who took the opportunity to “Say It”; feedback does make a difference and the results will be shared later this month. We agree that it’s important to encourage a culture where people feel comfortable discussing their concerns!

Thank you for your comments and specific recommendations. We are listening! With regard to your advice, “encourage management to take a more proactive approach and interest with their direct reports,” I’m happy to share that one of the main initiatives our Manager of Organizational Learning and Development is working on is a management training program. Much of the focus of this initiative is about equipping managers with the mindset and tools to constructively dialogue about the topics you mention. As a company that has seen a lot of growth, we understandably have managers at varying experience levels and believe in the type of programs you suggest. Our HR services team does visit with team members and if you have been unable to meet your local HR partners and wish to do so, I would encourage you to actively reach out. As we look to continue to create structured programs such as some of the ones you suggest, it’s also important for employees to take ownership and establish the relationships they seek to have at NAVEX Global.
