Pros

1. A young and fun culture. Competitive atmosphere, turkey bowl, fun holiday parties. 2. Ability to work from home.

Cons

1. NCSA has lost its way. The job has become more about putting through anyone and everyone to increase the chances of profit than about really helping student athletes. 2. This is a high pressure sales role with unrealistic metrics and expectations. You WILL be working 8-6 every day and working weekends. Work life balance is non existent. 3. There is no career path, here. Management hand picks who they want to groom for promotions. If you're one of the boys, you're in luck. If not, you stand no chance. 4. Employees are grossly underpaid despite this company's explosive growth over the last two years. 5. Senior management does not care about the people on the floor busting their behinds to make this company successful. There are a lot of unrealistic reviews on here put through by management or HR. I worked at NCSA for a considerable amount of time and have noticed that many reviews have been deleted if they contained any sort of negativity.

Thank you for the feedback although I wish you would have raised your frustrations directly, so we could have had an honest conversation vs an anonymous post. I’m sorry that you did not have a better experience during your 3+ years with the company. Senior management – I at the top of this list – truly does care about everyone within the organization. We have a deep appreciation for everyone who works hard and demonstrates our core values daily. We are intensely focused on continual improvement in several of the areas you mention – compensation, career path, work life balance, and it’s unfortunate to hear that you feel we are so off the mark. I wish you luck in whatever you are doing next.

Pros

You talk sports Work from home The day you quit is the best day ever.

Cons

Everything. -They tell you you’ll make a ton of money...you’ll be lucky to make 1/3 of what they tell you during interview process. -Say goodbye to friends and family. Seriously. -You are expected to work 70+ hours a week 7 days a week. If you don’t youll be asked “why aren’t you being a team player”. -Every weekend is the single biggest weekend in the history of Ncsa. Everyone needs to be in office, dialing phones, online putting in extra hours. Who is gonna step up for the team and really show us how it’s done? They guilt trip you and punish you if you don’t work more. Then you get stuck with an empty calendar. -you are expected to pay for leads or else you’ll get the bottom of the barrel. -Families are straight up lied to about the service and the cost. 80%+ has no idea ncsa costs money -Success rates are inflated incredibly bad. If a kid makes a blank profile and never logs in past that 1st day but goes to college, Ncsa counts it. -You 8am morning calls, mandatory company and team meetings in the afternoon, and then work 4pm-midnight. -micromanaged 24/7. -You are supposed to have one day off per week. But then you’re told “most guys end up making a few calls, it’s not actually work cuz they are only in office for a few hours, most don’t punch in for it”. Sounds exactly like a day off. -Ridiculously high turnover rate. That alone should scare people off. -Don’t let them sell you the lies. It stuck me as odd as how much they “sold me the job” during the interview process. -Your direct managers are awful. -Upper management is super nice but they either have no idea how the company is actually run or they are part of the deception.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Of course, it is very disconcerting to hear you did not have a better experience. I hope that in your three years at NCSA, you did find some fulfillment here, and I wish you the best of luck in your next role. NCSA leadership has always taken workplace culture and team member satisfaction seriously. That’s why we’ve been consistently recognized as one of the best places to work in Illinois. In order to find ways to improve, we have anonymous, third-party feedback mechanisms in place and they tell a very different story than yours. You raised a variety of points – several of which are mistruths, and I am not going to address them all in this response. I do want to clarify a few things about NCSA to others reading this post. While I have no way to know what was said during your interview 3+ years ago, I can assure you that today, Recruiting Specialists interview with multiple people from our HR and Sales departments, and the compensation and schedule information which is shared is based on department averages from the prior year. During interviews, naturally candidates try to convince us that they are a great fit, and we also aim to demonstrate the value of an NCSA career. We are proud of our strong culture and the help and guidance we provide to our clients. We want prospective hires to know how much we care about making this the best place to work for competitive, hard-working, sports-minded individuals. Our serious candidates often receive multiple job offers so our goal, like other companies, is to put our best foot forward and share our strengths as an employer to win over these talented individuals. The average Recruiting Specialist works about 45-50 hours/week and many choose to work a set 40-hour schedule which is supported through a specific compensation structure. Just a quick look at our website will tell you that there is a cost associated with our premium services in addition to the free recruiting education and assessment as well as our free Starter package. NCSA’s Recruiting Specialist and Recruiting Coordinator turnover rates are comparable to that of most sales departments. We have many sales team members who love their jobs and have been with the organization 5-10 years, and some who have been here since 2000, the year our company was founded. I encourage any of our current team members to please come see me or call if they have any concerns. I care deeply about your well-being and the well-being of our customers. If any prospective team members have questions about what it is like to work at NCSA, you are more than welcome to contact me as well. My contact information can be found on our website. (I’d include it here but don’t believe Glassdoor allows it).

Cons

Place is a joke. Success rates are not real. Best performers are treated like average performers.
