I worked for this company for almost 3 years and kept telling myself things would get better. They take enthusiastic employees and exploit their efforts endlessly. The CEO is off in a dream world of where the company will be in 5 years but has no idea of the current state of the business. The president of the company is in the same boat selling products today that will not be available until that 5 year mark and considers 60 hours a week normal. Lastly, the consultant mentioned in many other reviews, is not only an obstacle to the company's growth and potential, his behavior is borderline uncomfortable. It is a SHAME how this company has done a complete 180 from success to what some may consider failure. The worst part is the employees that work tireless hours believing in something that the executive level is taking for granted. The company had real potential but as the years went by, the lack of management and attention to detail has created a pitfall. Not only is the professional community no longer considering NEOGOV as a competitor, but long standing customers have sensed their lack of responsibility and have predicted the downfall of the company. Just ask them for a solid customer reference.

No company direction, changed at least 20 times in the 3 years I was there. No career progression - I was never trained, or pushed to be better, pretty much sink or swim on your own. Management will treat you like another cog in the wheel, for being under 100 employees, you'd think they'd care more about culture and you as a human. Turnover is around 50%. Average lifespan of an employee is less than a year, because it's such a mad house. If not for the SaaS business model and having 95% government customers, who are hell to work with, this ship wouldv'e sunk long ago.
