      Slowly sinking ship

      Most of the people are great The benefits are amazing The hours are flexible The work is rewarding The experience working with state agencies is unique

      Cons

      The company's business model is outdated. The CEO lacks vision and leadership which could permanently cripple the company if not addressed.

      While we never want to receive a review like this, we do appreciate your candid feedback. We agree with all the pros you listed. Our employees are our number one resource and we do everything we can to ensure the best possible experience for our people. The situation in Texas was definitely not ideal, and we will use the feedback we’ve received to help drive change in the process, should we ever encounter similar circumstances. That said, our core business is strong, and our new strategies are positioning us for an even brighter future … a future our shareholders and employees continue to affirm.       One of our founding principles is to be the best place employees have ever worked, so I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the work environment at NIC. We have recently developed new training and mentoring for managers to ensure that they are leading each team successfully.

      Pros

      Full medical however, you have to pay full deducible up front. Tech Conference is quite nice, no outside vendors, only the smartest employees giving talks about new tech and trends.

      Cons

      No accountability is required so you question why you'd put in any more effort than is needed. On call is awful, most weeks there are over 80 pages, a lot of false positives.
