Thank you for the review. It’s great to hear you value the work-life balance our company has to offer. As our CEO says, give 100 percent at work, but 110 percent at home. Thank you for being on the NIC team!

Really Great Company

Pros

Fair pay Good Benefits- Fully paid medical/dental insurance, life insurance valued at double your pay up to $200,000, tuition reimbursement, Vacation time, all state holidays as paid holidays off Nice people, passionate people Company respects employee lives outside of work and doesn't encourage working extra hours except in rare occasions (like close to a new system launch). Project Managers and Developers can be chosen to go to yearly company wide conferences in different cities around the country where the company has offices located to go to lectures and network with other members of the company in other states.

Cons

Depending on your department, you may feel alienated from the other departments and other people in the company. The only teams that have room for upward growth are programmers and project managers. Most other positions (except management) don't have options to move up. Training is not supplied to employees unless asked for repeatedly. Some positions don't seem to be able to get any training even if they want it though. Though many of the positions are paid well (project managers, developers, managers), some positions are underpaid in the company. But considering the benefits supplied, it may still be considered and improvement over other companies. Sometimes the company feels like a bit of a "boys club" where you kind of need to get into the "club" to be noticed or respected, but for the most part if you work hard you will be noticed.
