Pros

Lots of sponsored events. Halloween party is awesome

Cons

Too many to list. Safe work practices are non-existent, the manager spends is days watching YouTube while the techs hang out in the "good ol boys" club. No drive, no ethics, no incentive to work hard. Upper management is non-existent. They pass down lofty goals, while gutting budgets and lining their own pockets. I was instructed to climb into a running cooling tower to clean nozzles. A massive no-no. Lockout-tag out is non existent. I had to beg to purchase basic PPE. Lighting ballasts were changed out live. For a year, they had a 400 DC power line just stretched across the Pools Lab. People walked over it, ran over with lifts and carts. A disaster of a company.

Pros

Seem to be making efforts to improve and there's some great (but wasted) talent within the organisation. Sadly, there are very few positives...

Cons

Too many to list... - Negative, pessimistic, unsophisticated culture in the office. A number of cliques. Unprofessional comments and behaviour. Not very welcoming. Known by many but no one speaks up about it. - Difficult to maintain a healthy work/life balance. All talk no action from management. Pretend to care. - Siloed, isolated working environment. Poor collaborative working amongst different departments. Almost feels like different companies working in different buildings. No 'oneness' in working together. - Internal systems, technology software outdated in the most part, in comparison to many other companies of similar size/profit; laborious and unnecessarily time-consuming. - It is definitely apparent to staff that the company, whilst claiming to be all about promoting and public public health, is actually very profit driven. This is sad to see and witness.

Pros

Thoroughly enjoying my new job with NSF as Safety Advisor. From the very beginning I received support from my Manager, Head Office and Colleagues. Induction was thorough and informative. Training was enjoyable and learnt a lot during it. Can always count on support when I need it. Enjoy being able to plan my own day and have perfect work/personal life balance as a result. Already recommended NSF as employer for my friends.

Cons

None at all! Enjoy working for NSF.
