Pros

The only reason I am giving this review two stars is because of the coworkers I had. They all work incredibly hard and I would not have gotten through my time at NUWAY if it weren’t for them.

Cons

NUWAY will tempt you with great benefits, PTO, etc. HOWEVER, within the past few months, it has been hard to ignore NUWAY no longer cares about its clients or employees, only about keeping numbers up. I took some time off due to mental health concerns and was ambushed by HR, forcing my group to disband and demote me to a non-case carrying role. I had no say in disbanding my group. NUWAY encourages “self-care” but doesn’t ACTUALLY want employees to take time for themselves because it will be “hard on their group.” I began working for NUWAY as in intern in 2021 and it is so sad to see how far they have fallen. Clients who are inappropriate for IOP are admitted despite employees voicing concerns or feeling uncomfortable. Everyone there is stressed and burned out and all NUWAY does is buy you ice cream or give you a small gift bag that says your work matters. Clinicians are expected 36 hours of client contact a week, which does not include documentation, collateral calls, etc. No matter how much money they may offer you, the workload and upper management turning a blind eye to issues like these make it absolutely not worth it.

Pros

Good pay and benefits but…

Cons

Company grew too fast and care for clients and employees suffered. Leadership detached from staff. Promotes people with zero experience, and passes over people who deserve promotion. Zero loyalty. Good pay and benefits are a way to distract people while they work them to death. I was there for over five years and miserable.

Pros

I can't think of any at this time

Cons

Doesn't matter if you have 10 years or 1 month of experience. You WILL be paid the same flat rate of 55K/yr. which is somewhat insulting. They advertise salaries that are not straight salary. No, it includes impossible to meet metrics based on client performance, daily census and constantly moving goal posts. Nuway also was offering $25 Gift Cards if employees would post 5 star reviews on Indeed, etc. so that the more honest reviews are diluted out with ones that are paid shills. You do not have job security, in the lower census periods staff can be laid off or dropped in FTE hours. For a non-profit, this agency works more like the For-Profit treatment centers that focus on quantity, not quality.
