Pros

Unit manager was amazing and so was my team! I love them all! Choice dollars for health care premiums

Cons

*Epis is the worst claims platform I have ever used. *Regional to VP's micromanage every move you make. We are adults- let us act like it *utilizing 15 separate systems to work a claim is ridiculous *MOI's that don't function and guidelines that are changed and WE ARE NEVER INFORMED *Metrics are understandable in every role BUT when the claims system barely functions and you are being buried until HUNDREDS OF CLAIMS A WEEK - YES HUNDREDS - metrics need to be modified *Severe lack of communication - I knew things before my boss and her boss because I was in meetings they weren't. That is fun. *HUNDRED OF CLAIMS A WEEK - Yup. They will up your claims every week until this is the norm. Adjusters having 500, 600 claims in their name is normal. *Their training is TRASH. Flat out. It is 4 weeks of learning the system and reading quickly over the policy. If I came in as a green adjuster I would have been screwed. *Don't be surprised if you are hired in in one position but then given another with no pay raise. *NO BONUSES!!! I have worked at several insurance carriers in claims and National General is by far the worst.

Pros

Steady paycheck, good amount of PTO

Cons

Leadership & Management don't lead. They don't grow their people. The intimidate, point out your mistakes without encouragement to grow. Leave you deflated questioning your ability. No documented processes. No real support. A miserable experience. Glad I got out. No real training. Unrealistic expectations. Expectation is to 'make bricks without straw'

Pros

Cool downtown atmosphere if you like that sort of thing.

Cons

Any positive comment on here was written by an HR rep or supervisor to buffer how awful this place is. HR is a gossip house to say the least. Absolute nightmare. Dishonest, unprofessional. Fires people at will. Horrible and incompetent! And that is being nice... Regional management is clueless. Can go to them with issues and nothing will ever change or get better. Years went by with no accountability or ownership on their part with all the issues that are there. Supervisors are dishonest, sneaky, out for themselves, lazy... They will throw anyone under the bus for their gain and on top of that, they have no clue what they are doing and way over paid for doing literally nothing. Besides the type of people that work here... The workload is unmanageable. Even for an experienced hard worker. Impossible to keep up with it and told it's not a 40 hour per week job... Promised a raise and promotion after 6 months. Total lie. dont even get me started on their archaic computer systems that never work. Although it was a nice break when they didn't work... All management and HR have premier parking while everyone else has to pay or park a mile away in the muni lot... Which is also terrible. Do not walk. RUN from this place. It is dishonest, lazy, clueless, incompetent... HR is just terrible. Trust no one. There is a reason for these comments. I did not get fired. I chose to leave so no...I'm not disgruntled....Better off finding the same position at a different company. I have a college degree and had years of prior experience. This was the unhappiest I had ever been in my life. I never felt more devalued. Bathrooms are also a disgusting and bio hazard mess. Just run! They are desperate for people and they might appear nice and friendly in an interview... Not the case!! Go somewhere else!!
