Pros

Navy federal has good health benefits. A couple of the managers are nice. They have a 24 hour gym.

Cons

The work life balance is not great. Even though the schedules are set, because of the unreasonable expectations set by upper management, it is not a job you can mentally " leave at work." The parking situation is atrocious. How can you schedule employees to work and expect them to be on time and then not have available parking for them? Also the training system needs to be revamped. Skimping on training and then having trainers who do not know what they are teaching is counter productive, especially since these are people who will be working directly with members personal bank accounts. Lowering the training time and standards in an effort to get more representatives trained and on the phones faster, ruins the experience for everyone. It causes financial complications for the member and an increase in work for the tenured employees. There are too many avoidable mistakes made by undertrained reps. Lastly, the micromanagement by upper management ( people who have not actually been on the phones), is reprehensible, making random illogical policy changes and expecting higher productivity only leads to lower morale, and loss of profit.

Pros

Solid healthcare, PTO, and retirement match. Meaningful work that can make a real difference for military families.

Cons

The new hybrid policy change (from 2 days to 3 days in office) feels disconnected from how the work is actually done. Many teams collaborate seamlessly remotely, yet leadership insists on a blanket mandate that doesn’t reflect role needs or performance. The policy was rolled out with little transparency or empathy. Morale has dropped significantly. Many high performers are frustrated, especially those with long commutes, caregiving responsibilities, or who were hired under different expectations. Leadership admitted productivity and collaboration are fine and theres no logical reason they are doing this. Leadership communication often emphasizes “culture” and “connection” without addressing real data or employee feedback.

Pros

Liked my co-workers. Meet some very nice people on the staff level.

Cons

Leadership is lacking ethics. Retaliation from real estate lending leadership happens far too much. Supervisors and middle managers have no formal training in leadership. They refuse to communicate the changes they wish to place into the department, then punish staff employees when they can't follow through. Favoritism and gossip from supervisors and managers are far too common on the floor. Purposely place in faulty KPI (performance goals) that can't be reached to justify lowering raises and PIP payout. Leadership continues to get the company into too many lawsuits.
