Pros

Great compensation if you can make the minimum sales goal. Lots of opportunities to get help from veteran reps if you stick around long enough.

Cons

Stressful. If you don't make your goal in the first month, you won't get the good projects to sell on and it's much harder to make your goal in the second month. It felt I was in high school since most of the inside sales reps are just out of college. There was a lot of unprofessional behavior and drama.

Pros

Good phone sales training for someone new to sales or fresh out of college. Flexible shifts starting at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30AM. Health/dental benefits, company-paid minimum life insurance.

Cons

No paid vacation or sick time. Unmatched 401k. Starting draw offered is $30k. Commission and bonuses go down or are taken away beginning after six months and after two years goes to straight commission. Turnover is about 80% in the first year requiring a new rep class on average 6x per year. Outbound calls are expected to be 55 per day. Management took away a sales rep bonus during the second half of last year due to “an accounting error.” You “get to be comfortable” with a jeans day reward if sales goals are met. Managers have either poor people skills/good knowledge or vice versa.
