Pros

Benefits are good but you have to pay for it.

Cons

This company does not care about it's employees. Only how much work they can drag out of you for the least amount of money.

Pros

Flexible if you're remote. Average benefits. Depending on position, pay is decent. Better than it was but no direction moving forward.

Cons

Top heavy. There seems to be a new VP / Director announced every week for the past year while struggling to maintain appropriate levels at client facing staff (support, sales, etc). Pay cuts to sales. Majority of sales people who have been there longer than 6 years have quit because of the new comp plan that was introduced late last year. I took a 40% hit to my pay while others took even higher. On top of that, sales people were frozen out of cost of living increases for the past 2 years. There is no attempt to retain quality employees. Due diligence is lacking on acquisitions. Look at the lack of integration of acquisitions into the "ONE" concept. I can only think of a single product that has been integrated successfully (Nextgen Share). If a customer asks for a quote that includes Nextgen EMR, RCM, Mirth, Entrada, and even the forgotten Dental suite.... guess how many sales reps, managers, engineers, and how many quotes, agreements, and invoices will be involved? The answer isn't "ONE" which confuses and frustrates the client. Want an interface with a popular lab or device? Do you use the interoperability company that Nextgen acquired 4 years ago ( Mirth) that has a free open source version or do you use the legacy system Rosetta (you pay handsomely for both is the answer).

Pros

The people at NextGen are the absolute best! You will not find a better group of people to work with.

Cons

Too top heavy, lots of management changes and senior level executives are too far removed. There have been layoffs consistently for the last 4 years. They reorganized multiple times, every time new mgt comes in, we do what we did 3 years ago and then switch back and forth.
