Pros

The people who work at Trunk Club are some of the most amazing people I have ever met. I built strong relationships and friendships with many people at the company and I still keep in touch with many of them. The stylists are just really high quality people! You get to build your own book of clients and if you love your clients then this is definitely a pro!

Cons

Where do I start? The biggest issue with the company is that they don't care about their employees. For a company that compares itself to companies like Google, Yahoo!, etc., they should look at how those companies treat their employees. Employees at Trunk Club are expected to work investment banking hours with retail salaries and no perks. A 20% discount and the occasional free cocktail from the bar is the extent of the employee perks. I mean they don't even provide free coffee for the employees and they have us sitting in plastic/mesh chairs and don't give us as much as a free pen! Happy employees make hard working employees, but it's been made clear to the employees that Brian Spaly has no interest in caring about his employees. Spaly leads all-hands meetings and has been known to call the sales team offensive and sexist profanities, lazy, compares us to used car salesmen, and shows a complete lack of respect for the people working for him. Right off the bat they expect you to sell $30K+/Month but they don't give you the tools to be able to do that. They expect you to "tap into your network" (ie ask your parents to connect you with their rich friends and coworkers) because it is impossible to sell $30K/Month with the leads that they have sourced for us. There is no room for growth outside of the sales role. If you don't hit big numbers, they show you the door even if there is another position that would be great for you. Lastly, but still extremely relevant, upper management is like a group of 4th graders. They are exclusive, rude, dishonest, and unsupportive. I promise you don't want to work here!

Pros

Good people to work with

Cons

They tell you that you are going to receive a "target" bonus of 15%. But, That is not the case. People are way below actually making that bonus. When I was hired they sold me on the fact that it was my base pay and then the bonus so it made it look like a great opportunity. NOT!! Plus, every day there are emails that go out company wide from people leaving the companyat least 4 or more a day.

Pros

It is a strong business, with great Leadership at the top. Employees seem to be dedicated to the business, and are given opportunities to learn new roles within the company.

Cons

This company is a political mine field. Their company slogan is Nordstrom, Nice. What is actually going on is individuals with many years in the company controlling a complex political structure. Norstrom encourages people to move around and try out any position they desire, without proof of their ability to perform in the position. This results in many of the employees not being qualified for their positions. In the technology side of the business, this kills productivity, and adds a lot of overhead in relationship management. There are a few individuals that are working in their areas of expertise. These individuals are slowed down by compex and erratic IT support team, and by co-workers and team mates that have no idea how to perform their job. I am seriously thinking of leaving because of the culture, and know of other individuals in the IT organization that have left for similar reasons.
