Pros

Some of the employees were great to work with.

Cons

No way to move up unless you are in the "in" crowd with management. The "in" crowd is either being female or black. All managers at the Killeen store are either black or female. There is no support system for employees. Certain employees are believed about work no matter what evidence is presented, and even though the manager knows the person is lying. Logistics area is a complete mess. Items not where they are suppose to be located at. Above stock items not scanned in or placed in the wrong location. Coupons are routinely accepted regardless of expiration date causing the sale to be drastically reduced.

Pros

Your experience here is highly dependent on the store management. It is still frustrating to work here, but can be so much better if you have a good management team. - Flexible hours - Decent pay if you have skills required (technology/computer repair) - Looks good on a resume if you are in school (like myself) and are getting into the IT world Note: I left the company to take an internship in my career field.

Cons

Corporate is completely out of touch with the hot mess that is the retail division of the company. - Stores are falling apart and haven't been remodeled in years. My particular store was still using a 1MB/sec internet connection. It is 2018! - Payroll is limited and 3 employees running an entire store is not uncommon - AC and heat are extremely limited due to corporate cost cutting. Corporate then wonders why people do not want to shop at the stores! - Corporate frequently pushes programs that make no sense, and will be abandoned in 6 months time - Employees are pushed to sell customers services and subscriptions that they do not need - Corporate ignores store-level issues and will be completely unreachable a lot of the time. Emergency repairs and maintenance issues are apparently not a priority - You will be asked to do the job of 3-4 people for the pay of one - Frustratingly outdated computer system and registers. Expect to have impatient customers ask why your register is going kapoot for the third time during their transaction - Company is trying to refocus on services (Compucom acquisition) but puts no effort into trying to make the retail experience better and worthwhile. They then wonder why retail continues to slump lower and lower - High corporate and store turnover results in messy, bureaucratic processes and total lack of communication between teams Overall, total hot mess of a company. Did I mention they are BLEEDING cash? Stock has hit all time lows this year and the company is deep in debt from its decision to purchase Compucom.

Pros

Flexible hours, retail job that isn't minimum wage base pay, store management is great, understanding, listens to their employees, and actually cares about what happens to the store. Gives hours to those who actually work and sell. Can be an overall fun or interesting place to work in if you enjoy sales. Sky's the limit for career advancement depending on where you're at.

Cons

District management and above is overbearing, micromanaging, and sets unattainable/conflicting goals in order to not give bonuses and to just give up on the store. Doesn't listen to ideas or suggestions if you're not part of the "clique" or out of fear of falling out of grace with corporate. No matter how well you do, how much you sell, it's never good enough. Constantly surpassing last year and the years before sales and still no recognition there's improvement. Commission off of warranties is ridiculously low, practically nonexistent since they cut the old program.... Hear they might bring it back though, so fingers crossed. Raises? What raises? You could sell your own family every month for a year and they'll put off your raise until the next year or give you a quarter like it's the "old days" and that was a lot of money. Opportunities for advancement? Maybe if they actually let go of incompetent supervisors and managers. Instead they're given chance after chance to avoid lawsuits and HR complaints and thus, lose efficiency and sales because, again, horrible management. Turnover is extremely high. Remember that coworker five minutes ago? Now it's someone else. Customers within tech can be horribly rude, and not know what an internet browser is to all of sudden telling you how to do your job. They want their computer fixed but refuse to pay a tech fee, or expect a miracle for their ancient e-machine from the 1980s.
