      Used to be a great company

      Pros

      Depending on location, low turnaround and overall a good team at most stores. A lot of people in the area have been there for years and are good people to work for/with.

      Cons

      Too many flavor of the month focuses that don't give positive results that get a full force backing, they cut back in the wrong areas and are too focused on one area to give the customer service that they should. They need to get back to the simple customer service before trying to get the new ideas pushed too hard. Years ago it was a great company with simple expectations, take care of the customer and give them the solution that they need. Now it is all about 'this has more profit push it!'

      Pros

      Work with a great team. District manager is respectful, knowledgable, and respectful.

      Cons

      Medical benefits, Company appears to be in trouble. Unsure about my future with the company. Will it go the way of Circuit City? Stock plummetted, and appears to not be able to recover for some time. It may be better if we outlast OMax, time will tell.

      Pros

      good people, fairly easy job, cant really think of any other good reason to work for office depot.

      Cons

      low pay compared to what most of the market is paying today. apparently you don't need experience to be promoted to assistant manager (e.g. i have 3 1/2 years retail experience and another year at office depot and they promote a guy that has been with office depot less then a year) like wtf!!!, i could go on and write a book of the downsides of working for office depot.
