Pros

From the C-Suite to peers, OBE focuses greatly on the person behind the work. When we meet for our offsites, there is an emphasis on getting to know each other outside of our projects. From celebrating our life achievements (new babies, pets, and running milestones) to C-suite remembering everyone's names and roles to recovery days to 2 feedback sessions a year to 2 offsites for team bonding. This is my first time at an agency and I heard horror stories of the terrible work culture at agencies, but OBE has always made me feel heard and seen. My direct managers and mentors are always looking for ways to level up my skills and achieve my goals. I believe that all the folks on my team and company-wide has my best interests at heart. I feel this is a place I can flourish for many many years to come. The projects are also so kick-butt (excuse my french)! We are really working on diversifying our portfolio and I can see that everyone's interests are beginning to bleed into our work. Additionally, the caliber of everyone's work is so high. I feel like sometimes in the workplace there are folks who can't carry their weight, but since OBE prioritizes the person they are amazing at finding gems with great work ethic. All that to say they don't overwork us. People are great at finding the space to recover and reset and upper management encourages to keep our lifestyles balanced. I am so proud to be a part of the OBE team and am extremely optimistic about my future here.

Cons

While I love the culture, one of the glaring downsides is the lack of diversity. I felt this during my interview process and on a macro level in the company. We are making room for these changes, but there is a lot of work ahead of us. This all to say I have voiced my opinions with upper management and HR and I have been met with empathy, understanding, and honesty. I am looking forward to how OBE will focus on more diversity efforts internally and externally. Also the company is predominantly located in California and there is some separation between the offices. There needs to be more inclusion of all folks and offices.

Pros

Collaborative work environment. Self-starters and do-ers excel here. Opportunities to stretch and grow your skill set if you're interested in that. Decent benefits package. All-company offsite allows everyone to get to know each other better, regardless of office (or home office) location. Dog-friendly offices.

Cons

In-office days required, which can be an adjustment to some. Agency is growing - which can come with some growing pains, although they work hard to mitigate those.

Pros

The culture at OBE is truly unmatched. We certainly work hard, but the fun parts of the job are always abundant. I've never worked with such inspiring and creative group of people. Seeing the events we work on come to life is the cherry on top of an already-rewarding job. No two days are the same at OBE, which keeps the environment fast-paced and exciting.

Cons

Since this is a project-based agency, workload can be unpredictable at times. Sometimes weeks are slower, and sometimes they are VERY busy. Comes with the territory, but it can be difficult to navigate these ebbs and flows at times.
