Buckle up, this will be long. This company is a dumpster fire of poor management and mistreating and deceiving employees on all levels. The two executives commenting on reviews here are at best ignoring the issues in the reviews and at worst blatantly lying in their defensive retorts. Pay attention to your offer before accepting it. Maybe even record the video call if that is legal where you are. You can bet on several things stated in your initial offer meeting not being even remotely based in truth. Ask what your salary will be. Ask what your bonus will be and how long it will take you to vest. Ask what your hours will be. Then ask if anything above and beyond your patient scheduled hours are expected. There are mandatory pointless huddles every single day with no useful information held every day during lunch (i.e.the hour which you are not paid for). You are not paid for admin time, regardless of what the CMO is saying in other reviews. Your annual raises are not merit based. You get the same raise if you work hard or do the bare minimum, it's all about how long you've been there, not the quality of your work. They also love to tout that they don't put any non-compete clause in the agreement because people are "so happy here that they never leave." Thats absurd. The turnover in this company is so high. People leave and never look back because their time here is so awful. Hopefully they aren't still trying to lure people in with sketchy stock options, but if they are then you should decline it and ask for the cash value instead. The statements about how MD/DO's are paid double what PA/NPs are paid is 100% true even though you do the same job. Medical Directors make even more and only see patients about half the time. You will have a ton of upper level management constantly talking about "standard work" yet when you have questions, they will never give you a direct answer. Everyone who has said this place is the McDonalds of primary care is spot on. The patient is always right. Everyone gets stimulants. Everyone gets benzos. Everyone gets testosterone. If you say no, the patient will complain and supervisor will come in and supersede your decision. Patients can no-show as many times as they want without penalty. Patients can show up incredibly late and you are still expected to see them and work the rest of your schedule on time. The culture is very clique-heavy. If someone stays long enough to get promoted to a management or leadership role, they stick together with others and if you're new you are treated like an outsider. Those same people also do very little work. I don't even have enough hands to count the number of people I encountered that I had no idea what their actual duties were, they just floated around and showed up every now and then on a Zoom. The culture is toxic. You're encouraged to smile and ignore problems. You're ostracized for bringing up issues. You're often told "that's just the way it is" or "it could be worse." In summary, this place will drive you mad unless your goal is to hop your way up the management ladder while leaving a wake of destroyed morale in your path. I am disappointed in myself for being excited to start this position. I was naive to believe the smooth talking. They aren't in the business of taking care of the employees who deliver care to their members, they're in the business of collecting a membership fee for their members and giving them whatever they want. There are better people to work for. There is better pay for more satisfying work.
