Pros

I have to admit I was a little hesitant to stop hands on patient care and take on the responsibility of coaching patients/members telephonically. I don't regret my decision one bit! I love the ability to be trusted to work remotely and manage my caseload with the ever present support of my supervisors and peers. I am the type of person who thrives off of challenge and change. This position offers me the opportunity to impact people in a way I never thought possible. In a world where traditional healthcare has a "treat and street" mentality, this company's goals and mission mirror my own: to give people who otherwise would be ignored the chance to change their lives for the better.

Cons

I honestly can't think of any.

Pros

Only pro is working from home

Cons

It's really tough to work for a company where you are not valued or not respected ! Orientation was disorganized, and chaotic. When the upper management talks about what employees they don't like and who's next to get fired, during orientation, and makes fun of other employees, leaves a bad impression from the beginning. Makes a person wonder what they were saying about them to new staff coming onboard. During orientation management continuously made fun of other staffs sexual orientation at the same they were bragging about who they themselves had sex with, how it was, and how many times it happened . Very unprofessional! Numerous staff fired in less than a year and now multiple staff quitting We are made to feel afraid of losing our jobs on a day to day basis. Certain individuals in management use scare tactics and bullying to get what they feel is needed. Responsibilities are far too many that not even an extremely organized individual can complete. Staff is made to feel stupid, inefficient , unappreciated, unimportant and not valued in any way. Nurses are required to have a license in any state they practice nursing , including telephonically so all the nurses at catasys are practicing illegally and are jeopardizing there career. According to nursing practice , an LPN or LVN is not allowed to supervise an RN in a clinical setting and the telephonic RN is considered a clinical role

First and foremost we would like to provide guidance in how to appropriately address your concerns. We recommend reviewing your employee manual for resources available to you and for assistance in providing solutions to the issues you may have here. While management does not feel the need to address all negative reviews of its performance we do feel the need to respond to some of the accusations in your post. Management is involved heavily in the on-boarding process for most new employees and in all our years at Catasys we have never once heard anyone at the management or staff level ridicule another employee in orientation. In fact, our experience has been quite the opposite, new employees are given every opportunity to succeed in their new role. Managers make themselves available for additional training if needed and the entire on-boarding team bends over backwards to make a difficult process as comfortable as possible. As far as any discussion of sex and sexual orientation we find that surprising to the point of disbelief knowing the character and professionalism of all management staff. That kind of behavior is not tolerated, period. We are constantly evaluating and looking for ways to improve training and orientation, we have a dedicated Training Specialist who is responsible to guide all employees through the process of on-boarding. Is it perfect? No, there are always small hiccups but the overwhelming feedback we receive on our training effectiveness is positive and typically full of praise on how we care for and support our new team members. Like any small, rapidly growing company we do experience turnover and most of the roles here require a high level of organization, dedication and critical thinking ability. We strive to hire the best and brightest but sometimes we miss and people leave, most of those separations are mutual as this line of work is not the right fit for everyone. Catasys consistently monitors employee turnover rates and proudly reports to be well within industry standards, actually better than most similarly situated healthcare companies. We would be happy to share our results with you or to any prospective employee during the interview process. . We have a dedicated compliance officer who continuously evaluates how we do things, helps enforce our code of ethics and we are confident our nurses are not practicing illegally in their coaching function. . But again, we would like to encourage you to seek out the proper people in order to get your numerous concerns addressed. We are all here to help ensure you are comfortable in your role. It is our policy to develop, promote and support our people based on their performance and ability. We here at Catasys are extremely proud of all of the amazing work our clinical team accomplishes every day, whether LVN or RN, it does not matter. Finally, we take this type of post to heart and so do other hard working employees at Catasys. We are very disappointed that your experience working at Catasys has not been positive but given the opportunity we are sure we can help. Each member of management has an open door policy and we are all here to help you achieve your fullest potential. We welcome all reviews, negative and positive with the continued hope in making sure that ALL employees feel respected, praised for good work, and provided with the best tools to impact our members and each other for a better future.

Pros

Working from home, autonomous work environment. Decent pay and excellent benefits

Cons

Management uses an environment of fear with employees. Supervisors are dismissive at the best, while you are a nurse here, you are disrespecred here more than at a hospital.
