Pros

You get the best equipment, internet services at no cost out of your pocket,PTO are plenty for you to take more than once per year, All benefits perks gets you started without any probation period. There are plenty of WFH open positions without having to show up for physical meetings.

Cons

There are high expectations right after the training class is over, you get a chance to learn all you can in short period, than you are pretty much on your own to work with the guidelines and rules. If you love being micromanaged for getting your work checked off every week with an individual meeting with your manager and love to get that challenge to almost be perfect and fast at typing and following the rules than this is for you. They always come with these last minutes changes to OT so be prepared for the workload for the petty pay maybe bc it is deducted to cover the expenses off the equipment and internet. Upper management just need the numbers to go up and keep increasing. OT hours only happens a few weeks during peak seasons.

Not Bad, But Not Great

Pros

Some managers are good and care about their employees Well positioned for success Individual managers promote work/life balance and insists in offsetting time if you work late or on weekends

Cons

Senior management informed our department that despite high inflation and record profits, raises were going to be around 1%, and said "money isn't everything and you need to appreciate the people that you work with." The size of the company means that no matter how wonderful an idea is, it probably will not be implemented. Making changes is like steering an iceberg. If you do not make friends with connected individuals, you will probably not get promoted. My direct manager told me that I will not be promoted at Optum unless I have a different job offer in hand that they can decide to match or not.

Pros

If you want to maintain a balanced, healthy, mental, lifestyle, do not work at Optum Health. The work load is overwhelming and you'll never reach goals. Micromanaging is at it's finest and taking a lunch break is a luxury. Management cares only about the numbers. The. morale is very low and management is totally disorganized. Upper management is horrible. You can't keep up with the up to the daily and up to the minute changes if you tried. If you want to work in an extremely toxic environment, work late every day, this is the place for you.

Cons

1. Micromanagement 2. High work load 3. Disorganized 4. No room for growth 5. Low Morale 6. High turnover 7. Burn out is inevitable
