Pros

Get a 10% discount on stock options. UHG stock consistently performs well.

Cons

Overly bureaucratic environment makes it difficult to support the needs of providers. Members of Sales leadership don’t treat others respectfully. There is a culture if arrogance where Optum feels entitled to win customer business, thinking that their solutions are the best in the industry, when in fact the provider solutions and services are mediocre at best. If providers select another vendor, the company fails to reflect on why it lost the business and how the products/services can improve, and instead draw conclusions that the customer is stupid.
