Pros

You will get paid weekly.

Cons

1) The job is advertised "up to $25/hr". You're not gonna get close to that. You get tips and then depending on when you get a job fee that is less than $10 a job. Your jobs are not gonna be super close together, so you're looking at one job an hour, shifts are 3-4 hours typically. When you get your pay statement, they do not breakdown how much you got in tips and your job fee PER JOB. The figure you end up getting is "fishy" for lack of a better word. They mislead you into thinking it's worth doing when really you're just breaking even in gas. On top of that, they charge you a $60 fee for a REQUIRED bag that clearly costs less. 2) There is absolutely no support from Orderahead on what they expect you to do as a driver. The job of the dispatcher is to send you jobs, I get that. But if you have a general question about the job in general and you need to ask the regular staff...good luck getting an answer. They hold these orientations weekly, mislead new drivers and then just turn and burn a week later. We didn't walk through the driver app in the orientation. There were no contact numbers given to new driver's for help. I actually called the regular support line once during business hours and the phone rang til it hung up! I couldn't even leave a message! Don't work for them it's NOT worth it.

Pros

Set up own schedule and the dispatchers are awesome to work with. They have a good amount of locations to work in

Cons

No more minimum wage, you get paid by the order now which can be a hassle when trying to make a budget for yourself. You can Probably do 2 orders and hour if you're lucky enough which would bring in $12/hr; this is hard to do since sometimes you're on standby for half hour or more; it's also hard to do because there's a lot of traffic in some areas so you might just end up making $9/hr not including taxes or expenses. The company is probably losing money since they lowered their gairanteed wage to $9/hr, again not including expenses. You can't accept or deny jobs even though you're an independent contractor and not being paid by the hour...you're not allowed to see how much the customer tips you because it can change the way you treat the customer...

Thank you for the feedback, and we apologize for any confusion! We did move away from the hourly minimum payment plan, but not until we were confident most of our drivers (with tips and delivery fees) were earning above the previous set minimum per hour and wouldn't be negatively affected. As we were shifting to and improving a new scheduling and payment system, we wanted to make sure our drivers weren't being penalized. We also introduced several initiatives as safeguards for you - such as higher order minimums for customers and shorter delivery distances for drivers to accommodate the change. We're very sorry if this was not your experience! And we do really appreciate you taking the time to describe your time as an OrderAhead driver. I will definitely forward your comments to our Driver Operations team for their review as they are constantly trying to find ways to improve the experience for all of our drivers. In the meantime, we wish you the best in your future endeavors!

Pros

You get to work with smart and motivated people.

Cons

The company lacks direction especially given the competitive landscape. Management seems to be more result driven and have little time to invest in developing the people or the culture. Expect to work very long hours.

Thank you so much for your honest feedback! You're absolutely correct in that employees are our most valuable asset. While we have made strides towards that end in the past, it's certainly an area for continued improvement, and we've recently made some organizational changes with that very goal in mind. It would be incredibly appreciated if you could share additional thoughts and ideas on how the company can improve, as our Head of People Ops would love to engage with you in that conversation.
