Organization that pretends to care but would rather pad pockets than actually do something about major violations
Pros
having a job is good
Cons
-system of reporting racism and harassment is broken (pre march 2021, it was). ohsu is more concerned about appearing diverse and inclusive on the outside, but without repairing its deep financial fissures, this is just for show. have personally witnessed harassment and the process for dealing with it and IT IS BROKEN. -extremely low pay. especially for the west coast. -understaffed. many administrative persons are stretched ridiculously thin and are unable to adequately perform their positions. -serious financial issues -benefits. insurance for anyone outside of the OHSU PPO is terrible. have had multiple issues and improper billing that i've had to go head to head with insurance company with. -poor communication. see above- administrative staff stretched thin. responses to inquiries about your benefits, compensation, etc...don't expect a timely response. -out of sight, out of mind. if you work off campus, you will be utterly forgotten about. -bigwigs who bring in money to the university will go about their business completely unchecked
