Pros

-Very neat, interesting job--it's pretty amazing to see the engineering utility companies utilize to get electricity to customers -Get to be outside, all day, every day--if you like the outdoors, this job is for you -Great supervisor--fair and proactive, good communicator, worldly guy with knowledge about everything (including good music/grub spots/beer) -Get to travel and see areas of the country most people wouldn't get to see -Very stable company with good benefits, growth prospects -Company provided vehicle and gas (allow you to take truck home on the weekends--free gas!) -Met a lot of good, hard-working folks who you'll become friends with -Opportunities every week to make extra money--exceeding norm -Physically challenging--it gives me pride in completing the crappy work (i.e. cross country taps with no truck access, etc.) -Flexible, get to set schedule, be your own boss -Weekly pay! -Paid training in Kansas City, MO

Cons

None of these are huge cons in my opinion, just aspects of the job that can be tough that new employees should know about going in -Unpaid work--i.e. foreman administrative tasks (daily payroll, payroll/picture transmits) after work usually add up to an hour or two a week which is unpaid (may be changing soon, however) -Weather--100% outdoors, hard to predict -Travel can be challenging -Physically challenging--if you aren't tired at end of the day you aren't doing Osmose right -Feedback isn't always immediate--love to get QC'd because the feedback is invaluable but at times you won't see the reports for a while -Contract specifications can be confusing -Prepare to make mistakes (I've made a ton) which can be frustrating, but stay positive and learn from them

Pros

In the 7+ years I have been employed with Osmose it has afforded me many great opportunities. I have enjoyed travel to places that I would never been able to see. I have never been more physically fit. Worked with great people who have changed my life. Grown personally by the challenges placed in front of me. Seen steady growth and future career oppertunity that would not have been offered with another employer. Always supported and recognized by management for the work I performed.

Cons

Travel is a double edge sword, it can be fun and taxing at times.

Pros

Nothing good to say about company other than they make money using a hedge fund to support their business acquisitions and leverage business deals.

Cons

Small company that talks BIG and delivers small. No regard for the employees; will run you out the door in a heartbeat. Would never recommend anyone work for these people. Stay away its a nightmare! Find a place that actually cares for workers and has stable employment history.
