Pros
- Make your own weekly availability. - Work from home. - Supportive coworkers (tutors/tutor managers/platform managers). - Decent hourly wage.
Cons
- Mandatory to be available for a minimum of ten hours a week, but seldom get more than a single 4-hour shift despite providing 35+ hours of availability. - Under-scheduled yet overworked during shifts. Working with more than three students simultaneously (different subjects & grades) leads to a worse experience for students on platform and discourages their returning. - Upper management just recently asked their middle management to “opt-in” again to PAPER’s changing mission, and a lot of people fundamental to this company chose to leave due to feeling the integrity of PAPER has disappeared. - Need to have an undergrad degree to be hired, but won’t be paid/supported with a livable wage that complements the hours worked. Upper management would rather focus on hiring new tutors rather than support the thousands they already have.
