Pros

Best maintenance practices, Good pay for the industry for pilots, Professional employees

Cons

New scheduling and pay practices were initiated recently that have destroyed moral among nearly all medical crew and some within the pilot group. Medical crews were reduced to three of each practice, working ten 24 hour shifts a month. And while their annual salary may or may not have increased, their hourly pay was determined based on the required number of hours worked and the local OT laws. So crew members from state to state will have different hourly pay in order to equal the same annual salary. At the same time, a "pool" of crew members was created to fill vacancies caused by vacation and required training. This was all done in the name of reducing out of service time. However, it's had the opposite effect. Management, strongly led by company president, Mr Motzkin, has driven all of this change without involvement or input from the staff. When opinions are given during stakeholder calls the response given is always, "We hear you and we're taking what's being said under consideration." But what the employees hear is, "We hear what you're saying, and the answer is, no." This is a good company that was a great company. And if management would see what they are doing they could prevent it from becoming a bad company. But will they??

Pros

Employment here will allow you to put a flight role on your resume.

Cons

Power- hungry management does not care about the well-being of their employees. Q Investment’s Scott McCarty became the new CEO and is running the organization into the ground. We continue to hemorrhage our best while retaining only the “yes men” that drink the corporate Kool-Aid. Safety is no longer a priority, pressure to fly is real, and the clinical quality is subpar at best. The compensation is a joke - the organization uses every single avenue to avoid paying the employees what they should. They rely on the RLA status to not pay overtime. Nurses and Paramedics: If you think this is your dream job, look elsewhere. You’ll make better money and do better care staying in the unit or on a ground ambulance. The organization communicated poorly, schedules poorly, and takes advantage of employees who are not familiar with EEOC and wage laws. Employees who “stand up, speak out, and take action” now find that they are quietly and passively reprimanded for aligning with the company’s employees empty commitment to safety. The organization and its leadership is the epitome of a toxic workplace. I’ve been here for over six years and worked both the flight line and management roles. I’m only staying until I find new employment. Do yourself a favor and work any other flight company but this one. It’s a sinking ship. Even management knows. To quote one regional Program Director from Texas:”We’re due to smoke another one” which recognizes that the management has created a culture where it’s now accepted that the death of a crew is impending and they simply refuse to change.

Pros

Excellent clinical training. The tenured crewmembers, what's left of them, are great to work with. The medical directors are approachable, easy to talk to.

Cons

The most dishonest lying backstabbing "managers" I have ever heard of. They have taken a phenomenal company and literally ran it in the ground. It took a little while but they have gotten rid of all of the experienced competent staff. What is left is a bunch of immature, inexperienced people who aren't smart enough to know that they are in a very dangerous position. The company will not have your back, unless they have something to gain. More likely, they will target you in order to make a name for themselves. If walking around with crosshairs on your back isn't enough, then there is the awesome schedule. You are expected, no...demanded, to eat, sleep, live and breathe for PHI. Not your family. If you don't believe it, try to take off. It has to be asked for 6 MONTHS in advance. But no worries, this is way better for your work/life balance. And last, but not least...they will lie like the dogs they are to get their way. Too many eggs and folks looking to cut your throat to better themselves. Good luck
