Pros

Many free trainings, good colleagues and clients. May be ok for an MFT Intern and if the program director is supportive.

Cons

Do not value employees, little support for therapists, great emphasis on quantity over quality, low concern for client care, low pay, mentality that employees are easily replaceable. High turn over, high productivity demands, very difficult to meet expectations within the workday, frequent firings, especially of case managers. Please note, some programs are better than others and satisfaction seems to relate to the program director's ability to support staff and shield them from upper management.

Pros

Great co-workers, numerous trainings available to employees, some room for growth, great "stepping stone" towards your career. The company does have decent benefits and 14 holidays.

Cons

Very disorganized! The many divisions of Pacific Clinics seem to have no communication with one another. The organization seems to hold two priorities: expanding and billing. For a non-profit, it is run very similarly to a corporation. I have witnessed the some departments take on new projects without having adequate staff. The employees are extremely over worked and underpaid. The organization has an extremely visible hierarchy which can sometimes feel uncomfortable. Expect to sit in on staff meetings while watching recorded videos of the CEO speaking to the organization. With the changes in health care approaching, the entire organization is in a frenzy. The work never seems to be centered on the client. Billing takes priority over the car of the clients. This is not the fault of the employees, the have to meet at least 5 billable hours per day. Not meeting this could lead to termination or write-ups.

Pros

Training is provided and encouraged constantly, supervisors are supportive, good medical and fringe benefits, like educational leave, bereavement, vacation and sick time.

Cons

As a county contracted agency there is ALWAYS the threat of the county taking away the contract and billables become the priority over clients and especially staff well being. Many positions have high turnover and burn out rates because of this, expectations placed on staff are unrealistic and lead to disgruntled employees who leave the first chance they get.
