disorganized leadership with no vision

Pros

Lots of room for ownership- because no one is paying attention.

Cons

Leadership's vision for the company is always "transparent" in that they share it with us, but it is never what actually comes to fruition- and the change is never explained well or accurately. There isn't enough role clarity among leadership and so decisions are never made reliably without another member of the leadership team undoing it.

Pros

The snacks, and the lack of hustle which ensures that you won't ever be overworked or stressed because accountability and deadlines and structure don't exist here.

Cons

Everything. The management team. The lack of outside experience to understand how to improve what we do. Don't be fooled by the most recent review left on Glassdoor which gives 5 stars and alludes to a "little rain cloud" following layoffs and suggests that prior reviews are left by laid off, disgruntled employees. I was not laid off and I am telling you that you do not want to work here. I am so confident that 5 star review was a desperate attempt by someone in HR or on the management team to save face for this company.

Blind leading the blind

Pros

A reasonable work life balance. A number of truly talented workers.

Cons

The C-team is inexperienced and hence oblivious of how to financially and strategically run a business. Company vision is actively shared and therefore transparent but is often vague and inaccurate. Favoritism is prevalent, career development is a joke, and communication is nonexistent. Expressing negative feedback and dissenting opinions are viewed as inappropriate and ill-mannered. Management will only value you on your ability to comply. Work is never accredited to the correct people and there's no true ownership of anything. Management is completely ignorant of how anything really works and therefore incompetent in making decisions.
