Pros

The people are kind, the facility is nice and hourly employees aren’t expected to work overtime

Cons

The culture was terrible…having been removed for three years I just remembered how miserable it was working for the company and felt bad never having reviewed. It’s a fake “pizza party” culture that acts like they pay fair wages because they get you a ping pong table in the break room. The same folks who tell you that are the ones who look down at the folks for using it. The management is the kind of leadership checking the clock asking if it’s time to go home…and they are the only ones getting a real salary to be there. Huge red flag that I wish I took more seriously was during the hiring process when the rep said “the salary may be low, but the money shows up in different ways like free lunches”.

Pros

Exciting projects as the company is constantly growing. If you’re in it for the money, Parts Town will provide a competitive wage, no doubt. They offer nice benefits too - health, dental, profit sharing, discounted meals. This is a good get-on your feet kind of job, but you should keep options open and continue applying.

Cons

Folks here are lying about having a strong culture. This place has racist undertones and overtones - starting with how the US-based team members talk to their India-based team members. This is an intolerant environment that skews toward older and white men. Never heard so many racist and micro aggressive things in my life. Not to mention, the Addison office is always freezing cold. The company’s President jokes that it keeps people awake (toxic). If you are younger you will often be written off both in social and professional contexts. Basically, if you’re young with no kids, you’re treated like an oddball. They promote terrible “leaders” into management with impressive educational credentials but poor people/ communication skills. Mostly Black and Latino people work in the distribution center, but leadership refuses to hire one of them into leadership. This company is owned and largely run by a private equity company and they are price gougers - literally deploying non competitive strategies acquiring competitors and raising prices taking advantage of consumers expectations of higher prices. They also have an unclear attendance policy. If you have other offers, take them. This place is a long term loser so long as it continues to treat its people like crap. There isn’t enough therapy in the world that can wash the stink of the memory of this pace from my mind. I am thankful to no longer be working here. There are some nice people who work here who are fighting the good fight. They are far outnumbered.
