Pros

Patch was a great place to work prior to 2013 when they had to scale back dramatically. The pay was great for a job in journalism.

Cons

Management was great for the most part but there are always a few bad apples. It was inconsistent from one region to another how successful the sites were but some regions had it down.

Pros

Great people, inspiring mission, exciting ramp up and some really great work done by a lot of dedicated journalists.

Cons

It was too unwieldy to last for long, despite everyone's best efforts. Not sure why, even now.

Pros

There is an incredible need for hyperlocal journalism in the 24/7 model. Audience loved it when we gave them the tailored content that worked in their particular communities. The next iteration could capture this massive market!

Cons

Mixed messages, cross purposes conspired against sustained growth.
