Pros
Besides the fact that this has been one of the highest paying jobs I've ever had, there is a lot to love about Paycom. My position, Benefits Coordinator, was created just last year and it's been an awesome ride. I assist the clients that purchase our product to set up their benefits information in the Paycom system.
This position does involve a lot of customer service, you are working directly with HR teams across the United States, but it also has a technical aspect that I love. If you enjoy learning something new every day and helping people, this is the job for you.
The Benefits Coordinator position is fast paced but also has a lot of freedom. You are the project manager of a client's benefits setup. You are pretty much given free reign to make your to do list for the day. I have never felt micromanaged or watched like a hawk, but I do feel supported. My team leader is highly supportive (shout out Team Boyd) and always ensures that I can come to her if I need help.
This isn't the kind of job that pushes you through training and watches you sink. This job will go out of their way to ensure that you have everything you need to be successful.
I love the fact that leadership is legitimately open to new ideas and processes. The whole reason my position was created was because of someone's idea on how to improve the Paycom experience for new clients. A lot of places that I've worked, don't respect the ideas of the workers. A lot of places won't even look at your ideas if you aren't in a management position.
Paycom not only respects their current employees at any level but they often ask us to help come up with process improvements or give feedback on ways they can improve for us. I've never worked at a company that has made me feel so a part of their growth as Paycom has.
Now for the honorable mention Pros:
-Awesome benefits-- seriously cheap out of pocket cost and great coverage
-Weekends Off
-Great pay!!
-Lots of opportunity to move up or even to check out other departments
-Catered $4 lunches
-They frequently give us gifts or throw us parties
Cons
Honestly the only thing I could think of was the traffic when coming in during the morning. Obviously employing thousands of people will result in a lot of traffic. My advice- aim to get to Paycom about 15 minutes before your shift. Most people do anyway but always good to note!
