Great work environment but policies constantly changing

Pros

Very good work environment, particularly in 2024 when I started. Free drinks, soda, seltzer etc. 4 dollar lunches on site. Amenities, particularly a gym with a basketball court and fitness lessons and activities.

Cons

Policies (for developers) were in constant flux starting about a year after I joined. Testing and code merging changed multiple times in the span of a year. Hybrid working options eventually removed.

- aggressive deadlines - constant organizational/SDLC changes - poor job security - "many hats" expectations on developers (product, QA, dev, etc.) - poor recognition of work outside of direct report

the highlights of the job are the pay and benefits. the company hires really well and you get to meet and work with smart and nice people.

corporate is insane and makes unreasonable demands from employees like traveling across the country with a week notice during the holidays
