Pros

My TSR team was great. The TSR's in my office were always helpful.

Cons

I'm not sure where to begin with the downside of being a TSR at Paycom. These positive reviews are from new hire training class that haven't taken on clients yet. The tenure of TSR's are UNDER one year at Paycom before leaving. My mental and physical health took a toll while I was here. There were days/nights that I would work over 12 hours at a time, and still wasn't getting all my work done. The company expects very unrealistic timelines and different "processes" are put into place every Friday during the department call - it's very unorganized. For instance, for timelines, TSR's have only 3 months to get out of a deal with training on products, and then they are expected to make sure their clients usage is very high to get out. The culture at the company is none that I've ever see before. Sales sells the Paycom products (overpromises and then the TSR's have to break the news to the client that the product doesn't work the way that sales told them it would). My team has always said "TSR's make up for the sales teams mess". Sales tells the clients what they want to hear to make their commission check. It's that simple. Before accepting the position, ask the recruiter what the biggest pain points are of the TSR job. See what they say, ask them about the tenure of a TSR. Please do not put yourself in this situation, TSR's typically don't last more than a year here. TSR's and the team that they work with to configure the Paycom system with are always pointing fingers at whose fault it is that something hadn't gone right. I had a stable, great job and was so sold on the opportunity that the recruiter offered (money, car allowance, commissions, bonuses, $1 benefits, etc).

We’re sorry to read your comments and wish your experience had been different. In order to support the success of our new clients, we invest heavily in extensive training for our TSRs, beginning with onboarding and extending throughout a TSR’s career. Through numerous case studies and referrals, our clients have been very complimentary of our transition process and that is reflected in our 91% annual client revenue retention rate. We believe our new client onboarding process sets us apart in our industry and is only possible with a dedicated and cohesive staff. We are always open to feedback so we can improve the training and preparation of our employees and will share yours with our leadership team.

Pros

This is a great place to work for anyone starting their career in sales, or someone who is young with zero commitments. There is potential to make a ridiculous amount of money at a young age. This position will teach you discipline and aggressive sales techniques to be a phenomenal sales person wherever you go. The office is a family (and cult like) environment, which can be good or bad.

Cons

Where to begin. This will be the most stressful and micromanaging position you will ever have. You will lose all work life balance and most of your social life. Managers will reach out throughout the day asking about every detail and where you are. Be expected to drop everything you’re doing and respond on weekends and at 10pm. All sales managers are promoted from within. This sounds great in theory, but they promote the top sales reps who aren’t good at managing. I think Paycom is finally realizing this method does not work, as at least 10 sales managers have been demoted in the past 12 months and replaced by younger sales reps who have zero commitments, until they turnover again. This company does not care about what you've done in the past, but what you're doing today. There are cameras in the office to "catch" you if you leave at 4:55pm on a Friday, or god forbid you leave at 3pm on Christmas Eve (you're expected to be in the office until 5pm). Friday afternoon sales calls often run until 5:30pm for east coasters. You will feel guilty for taking any PTO time. This company manages with fear from the top down and 2% of the company truly feels job security. Office politics are throughout the company. If you're not a manager's favorite, good luck. It gets to a point where the money is not worth it. From day one they make you believe that Paycom is the only place you can work to make a lot of money, which is completely false. As mentioned above, this job will instill in you the work ethic to be a top sales leader at another organization that truly values, trusts, and rewards their employees for hard work... and even better, compensates you the same.

You’re correct that our sales team positions require an elevated work ethic to be a top salesperson and will not be an ideal fit for everyone. We make great efforts to be transparent about the requirements about our sales positions. As you mentioned, Paycom works hard to go above and beyond to reward its employees for their hard work and it does so by offering advancement opportunities, generous compensation and benefits in addition to a fun culture with events such as President’s Club and Winner’s Circle events. While it’s always unfortunate to learn of these feelings after departing Paycom, we will share this with the leadership team and wish you the best in your next career endeavors.

Pros

- TONS of room for growth. Paycom is huge on promoting from within, which is a major plus. For anyone who wants to achieve a lot in life and in their career, Paycom is the place to be. - Our recruiters know how to hire great people! You'll find yourself surrounded by hard working, dedicated individuals. You know anyone you work with across all departments is going to pull their weight. You work with people who value a good work ethic. - Leadership makes difficult decisions and takes action. It gets exhausting working for companies that don't trim necessary fat - Paycom is growing too quickly to keep individuals who are not major contributors. - The community. Hard working, passionate people who care about their jobs = an incredible work environment like I've never seen before. - Great benefits, learning opportunities, training, good PTO, monthly lunches, regular recognition, team building activities... I could go on! - Leadership really listens to feedback (recently added another week of vacation time)

Cons

- Change is a constant. When you work for one of the fastest growing companies in the country, you have to continually grow and evolve. You have to work hard and think on your feet. The solution six months ago may not be the same today. But that's also why I love working for Paycom because I never stop learning and growing. Change can be hard, but it's also been the best thing for my career. - Flexible schedules are much needed with the amount of congestion we cause at 8am and 5pm. Flexibility of just an hour will go a long way to accommodate employee's lifestyles and relieve the traffic burden. - We do tend to hire younger people who haven't worked for very many companies. They're often young and hungry with big ideas (which is fantastic), but some run into sticker shock going from college to an 8-5. I think anyone entering the workforce for the first time is surprised by how much any employer expects from you. That problem is compounded by Paycom's rapid growth.
