Terrible, often spineless "leadership" in the upper echelon. No one stands up to upper management or advocates for employees at the exec level; they're all afraid to call out the very top exec (read between the lines) for being inappropriate even when it's the right thing to do. Aforementioned exec is an immature, megalomaniac and temperamental person, who not only doesn't know what he doesn't know -- he doesn't care what he doesn't know, and therefore, does not think any ideas but his own (or those that mirror his own) are valid. Surrounds himself with yes-men/women and minions that quash any and all dissent.
Forced to 4 days/wk with threats of reduced bonuses and/or disciplinary action for non-compliance, but others are fully remote with no such cloud hanging over their heads. All done as a power trip by exec "leadership" copying moves by other firms despite knowing it is unpopular, inconvenient to staff, and serves none of the functions they tout to justify it.
It makes no sense to spend 40+ minutes one way in Charlotte traffic when the team is perfectly effective (and often more productive) in a home office. Collaboration does not suffer -- and most of the meetings are STILL held via Zoom/MS Teams since there are multiple offices (Canada, US) on them -- effectively dismantling the "in-person collaboration" argument.
Scope creep regarding jobs and titles -- rather than offering headcount for specialized functions, they'd rather "train" receptionists and CSRs to do the work -- Non-specialists doing specialist work to save dollars, since they do not appear to take the mission seriously.
Sales is permitted to run rampant without any real checks and balances -- resulting in less-than-stellar "incidents" that could be avoided with proper vetting and adherence to standard sales compliance frameworks.
So much more to go into, but hopefully, readers get the drift. I wouldn't recommend this place to any but my worst human interactions -- then again, if they landed in the upper ranks, they'd probably feel right at home.
