Pros

Mostly great coworkers and people willing to help you

Cons

Poor work life balance, senior management is very inappropriate. Clients are disrespectful because they were fed false promises. Very little training before being expected to know it all and held accountable. Culture is not great.

Pros

Large software product with a lot of learning opportunities and some room to grow in your career path Flexible in daily work i.e. doctor's appointment, picking up your child from school

Cons

Because there is an off-shore team, you may have project meetings at 8am. Deployments take place after hours and you may be asked to work at those times depending on your role. Hired as hybrid employee but this month (September 2023) they are "strongly encouraging" all hybrid employees to return to office two to three times a week, especially if you live within 40 miles distance from the office. At a business update meeting, the CEO said the company is not treating anyone like little people. However, if you want to make any exemption to the "strongly encouraged" two to three days a week in office, you have to submit a written request to the VP for review and approval. Management doesn't seem very supportive if you ask for exemption (i.e. living 38 miles from the office). I'm not the only employee feeling this way, there are others who have become very dissatisfied with the leadership direction and have mentioned they started looking elsewhere for opportunities.

We appreciate your feedback on your current experience with the company. We are pleased to hear about the growth and development opportunities that you are being offered within your role. We feel strongly that returning to the office will create opportunities to build stronger relationships cross functionally. It will drive more collaboration and rebuild a strong culture in a way that balances both the needs of our business and of our people. We will continue to provide flexibility to our staff by transitioning to a hybrid model. Please reach out to your Manager and/or Human Resources to discuss any accommodations you may need.

Not a great place to work

Pros

Pay is decent, and the company offers a $300 stipend toward family activities. Beyond that, there aren’t many standout perks or aspects of the role or company that meaningfully differentiate it.

Cons

Management lacks clear direction, and there are limited opportunities for growth or advancement. The four-days-in-office requirement feels rigid and unnecessary given the role.

Thank you for your candid feedback. Paymentus, like many companies within our industry, enacted a return-to-office policy to foster a culture of greater collaboration and community. It is our hope that employees will see that as an opportunity to create tighter relationships with their co-workers, and improve the performance of our company as a whole.
