Pros

Everyone is like family there, they all get along some days and fight the next. They work as a team none the less. It is a great environment for both patients and staff.

Cons

For being a hospital they offer costly health insurance to their staff.

Pros

I have been with PeaceHealth for about 3 weeks now an I am so impressed. It is clear this company truly cares about its employees. (Well, actually we're called caregivers not employees. Even those of us who don't treat patients. How cool is that?!) The culture here is such a welcome change from my previous employer in corporate America. I feel like this is a place where I matter as an individual and where I can make a difference at work and I my community. The health benefits here are drastically better than what I'm used to. They pay 100% of employee and a good portion of dependents on their high deductible plan. And even the low deductible plan is very affordable for employees and dependents. Starting vacation is good. Since they have many employees that work on holidays, everyone uses PTO for holidays AND vacation. But, you earn enough to get around 3 weeks even after taking time off for the standard holidays.

Cons

The life insurance amounts available for voluntary purchase aren't as high as I'm used to. And, the amount you can purchase for your spouse is much lower than I would like. Also, you do not have the option to purchase spouse disability insurance. They do not offer a PTO/vacation buy program that many employers offer. Unlike many large companies where you are eligible for benefits at date of hire, your benefits are not available until 30 days after the first 1st of the month after you start. Although the retirement contribution is above industry standard after you've been here for many years, the initial matching amounts in your early years of employment are very low.
