Pros

Some good people at the credit union spread throughout the organization. Although many are fearful of upper management.

Cons

The management is morally bankrupt and have developed a horrible culture at the credit union. I do not recommend working for this credit union. The board of directors is obviously willfully absent in what is going on at the credit union.

Pros

Pen Air is a family. We live by our core values. We are always there for each other in the most difficult of times. I love Pen Air with all of my heart. I am recognized by my peers, they value me as an employee and they want nothing but the best for my future and career with Pen Air. Employer of Choice by far!

Cons

We lose a lot of our employees to Navy Federal. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Pros

Honestly, the only pro this company still has is their community involvement and what they do for the members. Also, good employees on peer level.

Cons

I have seen this company go from outstanding to horrible. Two years ago, I would have never considered leaving the company. I had every intention of building a career with the company. However, they have stopped listening to their employees. They have had multiple instances where an employee has approached upper leadership and/or HR and the individual was let go or the issue was swept under the rug. These instances have contained issues such as management breaking multiple HR guidelines. Employees have gotten to the point where they will not report such instances for fear of retaliation. The morale throughout the company is very low. Yet again, leadership is not one bit concerned. The turnover rate is steadily increasing. The upper leadership has gotten "too big for their britches" and it is affecting the staff. They are pushing these "values" onto the staff but they are not living what they preach. Pen Air mainly has to offer empty promises and false pretenses. Seek growth opportunities elsewhere. Lower management does try extremely hard to retain their employees but normally once it goes to upper leadership (regionals & above) the ball gets dropped. In most cases nothing is done until an employee has turned in their resignation letter, if even then.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that your experience is not what you had hoped. Pen Air has implemented changes in our business approach which includes holding employees and managers alike accountable for their actions. Employees at all levels of the Credit Union were involved in creating many of these new approaches and employee feedback continues to be a valued part of our organization. As with any change, certain aspects require tweaking after implementation and unfortunately the solutions don't occur overnight. Any employee concerns are taken very seriously, addressed when needed, while ensuring that everyone is meeting expectations in the process. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
