Pros

The PTO was nice and the pay was decent as long as you'd been there for several years. The members were great and understanding.

Cons

New, unsupportive management. Sales, sales, sales (anyone remember what happened to Wells Fargo? Same culture here!) Upper management can't decide on what product/service/style they want and are continuously changing. Change is a good thing, but the employees are left scrambling all the time. CEO continues to drill into his employees' heads to "seek excellence elsewhere" if they have anything to say that isn't what he wants to hear (i.e. constructive criticism based on MEMBER complaints and reviews...not employees). Insane amount of responsibilities placed on frontline staff that no institution has, and the same staff are forced to do things the old fashioned way (keep paper files, etc) resulting in being weighted down...and the same employees are reprimanded if they have even 15 minutes of overtime even if it's because a member walked in late and kept them over. Every day it's a lose-lose situation and your hair will literally start to fall out from stress and anxiety. Oh, and they have uniforms. I've never cared about wearing uniforms or not (sometimes it does help for a more polished look), but one style does not fit all. If you're a bigger person, you are literally going to look like a bag of lumpy crap next to something thinner wearing the same shirt.

Pros

Hometown credit union, community, respect. Benefits far outweigh the competition. 401k, healthy lives, vacation time, coworkers, education benefit, health care benefit,

Cons

Stress. Are we surgeons? Do we hold the lives of others in our hands? Why should our jobs be so stressful? Why are we not working to keep members and keep employees? The branches are being judged and tested and observed to maintain jobs. Matthew 7 What happened to encouragement and helping one another? 1 Thessalonians 5:13

Pros

Good benefits, great people to work with. Also good insurance, and paid time off.

Cons

Horrible culture. Never was this way until new management took over. Its all about sales and nothing but sales.

Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize that your experience is not what you had hoped. Pen Air has implemented changes in our business approach. As with any change, some people will like it and thrive in the different environment, while others will feel it isn't for them. Our approach is centered on deepening the relationship with our members, not on selling a product/service, and based on our results is having the desired effect. Employees remain the key to our success and all levels of management are fully invested in their success and happiness. Employees from the front line were involved throughout the development of our new approach, and tweaks are being made based on employee feedback. Our members are, and will continue to be, the reason we exist; they are our top priority. If our approach to business does not adapt to changing market competition and economic conditions, Pen Air's strength will be diminished, along with our ability to serve our members. At Pen Air, we believe that people should be happy in their jobs. If you ultimately decide that the new approach is not for you, we certainly understand and wish you the best. We do, however, hope that you will focus on the reason behind the change and see the positive in the approach. Thanks again for your feedback.
