Pros

The environment is simply is what you make it. Truckers are rewarding customer for life not just employment. After a year at one location you will start to make a positive change.

Cons

Benefits are very expensive. Wages are worse. Simply except improvement with no guidance on excepted outcome. Train is a joke. If you can not figure it out on your own then your fired. Out of store management are very disconnected. If your store is doing well they simply don't do anything. If your store is in a hard area or struggling for any reason you are in for a very hard ride. Constant threatening of your job to force improvement. Major Financial problems leading their future.

Pros

Very family oriented. I love the people I work with. It is like a loud, italian family. Management will not mind if you have to take some time off as long as it is an unpaid leave.

Cons

Corporate office positions are being compared with retail positions. I started with $10.50/hour. In the retail world that's outstanding. There is only one problem - corporate and retail is not the same and should not be bundled together to drive up the statistics. Pilot has always run on a low budget, understaffed and paid the very minimum. Only those that have a direct impact on sales (besides the senior mamagement; regional managers and sales reps) are being compensated well. That is how Pilot has managed being so succesfull - work the minimum paid employees into the ground and reward the managers who are able to have their employees produce high yields for the company.

Pros

Active job with many different facets to keep you busy. Good job stability for crew members who can show up to work.

Cons

Ridiculous labor standards. Incredible favoratism from upper management. What have you done for me lately means in the last week. A great manager is someone who works more hours than anyone else. Pathetic, almost non-existant training hours available to develop crew. A "human resources" department that exists to defend upper managements whims. Politics, politics, politics...brown nosers please apply. A company culture that could care less about the employees outside life and if they burn out...well there are always more desperate people out there to use up!
