      Pros

      The family that owns the company cares about the employees and the pay is very competitive in the industry, It is a stable employment due to the nature of the environment.

      Cons

      The management is poor and as a manager, you can expect to work 60hrs or more a week without overtime pay.

      Pros

      Friendly down to earth managers, flexible hours, pay is not unreasonable considering, meet interesting people on both sides of the counter

      Cons

      Employees are treated as potential thieves, raises are unheard of, the up selling and 2-fer goals are unrealistic in this time where no one has extra money, employee hours are constantly cut and then the next week we would be short-handed.

      Pros

      It was the family atmosphere of Pilot Flying J that won me over. The company is family-run, and the culture is very family-oriented. My managers and supervisors have been extremely patient & flexible regarding my schedule & my special-needs child. Working for this company, I feel more like I'm just a part of a big family that is all working together, and I really like that feeling.

      Cons

      Like any large family, communication is an issue, and the larger we grow, the more of an opportunity that becomes. If we could improve our communication, especially from corporate to the field, we might do a better job of cultivating the "family" attitude more uniformly at the store level.
