Pros

The people are amazing. Very talented group.

Cons

They are outsourcing entire teams to India, reposting job openings the very day they decided to execute a second round of layoffs, without communicating this effectively company-wide. Some team members only finding out from Linkedin posts. Shameful and embarrassing. If your job is at risk of being automated with AI, beware. They will cut you from the team without a second thought. This used to be a company I was proud to belong to. Since Vista Equity took control, there is nothing left to be proud of.

Thank you for the review. We are hiring more team members in India and accelerating our strategy there and these folks are an important part of the Pluralsight team. I’m sorry to hear you thought our recent restructure was not communicated effectively. As a leadership team, we strive to communicate with purpose and will take your feedback to heart as we strive to be as clear and transparent as possible. -Will

Pros

Many brilliant and passionate employees.

Cons

Lack of coherent strategy and poor execution from top-down. The team doesn't feel being empowered nor trusted. Decisions were made behind closed door by executives sometimes with limited consultation to people who are actually doing the work.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I’m sorry that you felt a lack of clarity in our decision making. We value team member input and continuously work toward improving communication and decision-making processes. We’re also committed to fostering a culture of trust and autonomy, as it’s a key part of our employee value proposition. We have grown and evolved over the past several years and you are correct that our culture has evolved as well, and we are no longer a Utah-based startup but rather a globally distributed workforce. We are actively working to retain what makes Pluralsight so special (including the values-driven team members we hire around the world who tell us they truly enjoy working with each other) while also adapting and changing in a way that will continue to make our business successful. - Will

Pros

It was great...that is until Vista took over.

Cons

Cutting costs everywhere you look...reducing merit increases, cutting bonuses, passing more of the cost of benefits to employees and finally, reduction of staff in the US. But wait, there's more...if cutting 400 US jobs in 1 day wasn't enough, most of those were re-posted as openings the very same day in India.

Thank you for the review. Like so many other tech companies, economic uncertainty has impacted our business and overall performance. Because of this, we implemented a number of cost-savings measures, including restructuring several parts of our business which necessarily impacted headcount. This is the reality of the tech industry today and we’re not immune. Pluralsight previously paid 100% of healthcare premiums for team members and dependents. We adjusted this benefit in 2022 to be comparable to what many employers offer. Team members with dependents are now responsible for a portion of their coverage premium. However, we still provide an employee only medical plan with $0 employee premiums. To clarify, bonuses were not cut. They have always been based on company and individual performance and were effectively paid out to team members as forecasted. We’re proud to recognize team members for their 2022 performance during a difficult time. While some roles were shifted to our India Technology Center with our December restructure, the majority of impacted roles were not and this was clearly communicated. - Will
