Pros

Depending which team you're on it is possible you'll end up with a good group. There are still same people left there who care.

Cons

If you want a stable job where you have a reasonable chance of success, this isn't it. The leadership is comically inept. There are real challenges with membership and revenue as a result. Every position needs to worry about layoffs, which are becoming a daily part of life. The Cheif People Officer is the biggest HR trainwreck of them all, so you'll also need do worry how you're laid off. If you really want to work there, I recommend waiting a year. The company will either deal with the CEO and make necessary changes or be bought out by a larger company who can. The current state is just free fall.

Pros

Hybrid Work, Organization wants to “do the right thing” compared to similar organizations and is mission driven. Some teams work well.

Cons

The organization has far too many in leadership positions who lack people skills and an interest in attaining them. Or drives away those who do. This wasn’t always the case. Anyone who manages people should want or acquire skills to thoughtfully manage people. Instead the organization promotes either people with project management skills or people with perceived content experience. Soft skills are missing throughout layers of leadership. It’s responsible for the lack of engagement. I overheard someone who’s boss told them they don’t like “managing people”. Then why would that person be in the role of managing people. Another’s boss has never spent even 5 minutes over the course of years asking about them or talking with them casually. It’s bizarre.

Pros

Great employees from middle management and below in multiple departments dedicated to the job Full time remote positions People love not just the job but the work that goes with it

Cons

Company is incredibly top heavy with multiple directors per department (sometimes with no managers) Department redundancy (at least sub-4 departments that are the same name with minor synonym changes that each have their own directors and teams) Departments being reorganized constantly (i.e. layoffs), but will many examples of 2 directors hired for multiple departments Huge morale loss from recent layoffs with no real "empathy" from leadership No growth potential due to a lot of external hires to senior leadership and restructuring internally
